Thanks to his remarkable releases on Wolf Music, Amsterdam-based producer Frits Wentink is definitely a rising star in the good House Music scene. Born in 1988, and graduated with a degree in sound design and musicology, Steve Mesink aka Felix Lenferink, aka Frederik Eisink, aka Urkelle, aka Will & Ink, aka Frits Wentink… is always freshening up his unique style and… monikers :)

It’s been a long time since we wanted to work on a tribute to this talented producer and when we got into the process of picking up Steve Mensink‘s best titles, the job was pretty tough since all the releases are A+ grade. From Deep House to Electronica, through UK Garage influenced tunes, Frits Wentink, the 1.000.000 aliases man is a truly gifted and inspired musician. We finally came up with eight wonderful tracks and let the door open to a second episode because thirty minutes of Frits Wentink is surely not enough to introduce the many faces of this multidimensional artist.

We decided to start this tribute by his latest EP released on BORG Recordings. Marienleben is a Chicago/Filtered House track but instead of sampling Disco, Frits dared to sample a German speaking Diva and it works like a charm.
The second track of this Spot On… Frits Wentink is a song from his Family Dinner EP on Detroit Swindle‘s Label Heist. Shrewd, that’s the name of the tune, could have been produced by Todd Edwards in his very UK garage glorious days. Next to come is the now classic House track called Mouse released last year on the Brighton based label Wolf Music followed by Ligament on the Family Dinner EP as well. The second half of the show starts with the beautiful and refined song entitled Third Bourée that features the smooth, warm and jazzy vocals by Loes Jongerling. This breakbeat song is a real treat and Mice, the following tune, is a delight as well. Mice is the Gloomy-Dark and experimental Deep House track from Frits‘ first release on Wolf Music. In 2013, Wolf Music released some nice tracks all year long but this one is a step forward in term of uniqueness. Steve Mensink aka Frits Wentink first release happened in 2010 on Wolfskuil Records and he came back years later with Fluffy Tit. What a track name and what a smooth Deep House track!

To finish the show we carefully picked up our favourite Frits Wentink‘s tune of the moment entitled Geeses which is the 3rd title of his second release on Wolf Music. Frits Wentink is currently workink in the Redbull Studios Amsterdam to record a long-playing and we are really looking forward to listening to this album.
