It’s February and we are back to deliver our monthly STUDIO 514 session!
This week, we dive into the Soulful side of Disco Music produced between 1976 and 1980.
Let’s open the show with L.T.D. whose lead singer is the Incredible Jeffrey Osborne with the song Don’t Stop Loving Me Now. Another talent, another great voice, Millie Jackson is in this show as well with We Got To Hit It Off. Then comes Gayle Adams with her 1980 disco anthem Stretchin’ Out.
Enjoy one hour of gems from the attic with Runaway by The Salsoul Orchestra, the song is written and conducted by Vince Montana Jr. who also plays the brilliant solo on Vibes at the end of the song. Then comes Teddy Pendergrass and The More I Get, The More I Want, followed by Loleatta Holloway with Love Sensation, probably one of the most sampled Disco song ever.
To conclude this ninth STUDIO 514 session, we picked up a wonderful song by Leon Ware entitled Phantom Lover released in 1976 on his beautiful album Musical Massage.
